J Swap Stockfoods has further strengthened its South Island network with the completion of a new storage facility in Christchurch and construction now underway on an additional site in Southland.
The investment reflects the company’s long-term commitment to supporting South Island farmers with greater product availability, improved logistics, and increased capacity to meet growing demand.
Christchurch Capacity Increased by Over 50%
Located alongside J Swap’s existing Templeton facility, the new Christchurch store increases the company’s total storage footprint by more than 50%, bringing total floorspace to approximately 20,000 square metres.
The additional capacity allows J Swap Stockfoods to hold a wider range of products while increasing stock levels of key feed ingredients used in custom feed blends.
Importantly, the site has also been designed with future expansion in mind, with significant room available for further development as customer demand continues to grow.
Supporting Better Service for Farmers
According to Sales Consultant Dean Weastell, the expanded storage capacity will improve flexibility and service for customers across the South Island.
“The additional storage allows us to carry a wider range of products while giving our team more capacity to produce customised feed blends,” says Weastell.
“Combined with our own transport fleet, it means we can continue providing the reliable service our customers value. Farmers appreciate having one point of contact who can organise everything from supply through to delivery.”
Continuing to Invest in the South Island
J Swap Director Stephen Swap says the company has invested heavily in South Island infrastructure over the past two decades and remains committed to supporting the region’s agricultural sector.
“We’ve been operating in the South Island for around 20 years and continue to invest in the facilities and infrastructure needed to support our customers for the long term,” he says.
Construction has now commenced on a new storage facility in Southland, located between Bluff and Invercargill, further strengthening J Swap Stockfoods’ presence across the lower South Island.
Once complete, the new site will enhance product availability and improve delivery efficiency for customers throughout the region.
